Airspace Dynamics Lab

Data Catalog

The following table represents trajectory data and other related data that is available from the Aerospace Engineering's Airspace Dynamics Lab (ADL). .  The table has the following columns:

·         Domestic – Realized (as-flown) Trajectories, generated from FAA ASDI (class 2) data.

·         Domestic Plan – Planned Trajectories at time of departure, generated from FAA ASDI (class 2) data.

·         Domestic with Oceanic – Have FAA ASDI class 1 (London/Oceanic) data, that can be used to generate realized and planned trajectories.  The resultant trajectories are like the domestic/domestic plan trajectories except that they are enhanced with London and ocean flight data.

·         Domestic with Tail# – The Domestic Realized Trajectories with added information of Tail Number.

·         ADS-B – ADS-B data that can be used to generate realized and planned trajectories.  The resultant trajectories are like the domestic/domestic plan trajectories except they are enhanced with the

ADS-B position data (this is mainly relevant outside of NAS airspace).

·         GRIB   GRIB wind and temperature data. Prior to 2013, only wind data available.

·         CFMU – CFMU data for flights in Europe.

·         ASDI  Aircraft Situation Display to Industry data, this FAA TFMS data is in XML format

·         ITM – This is the ASDI data as converted into ICAO format.

√ = We have flight trajectory, flight plan or winds data

g = We can generate flight trajectory or flight plan data from original binary data from the government.
